What is VG and PG used in our E-liquid?
PG & VG are food-safe liquids that make up the bulk of our e-liquid or vape juice.
PG stands for 'Propylene Glycol' and VG stands for 'Vegetable Glycerine’. Almost all vape juices will contain a ratio of both ingredients. Propylene Glycol and is a synthetic organic compound that is used in food processing and pharmaceuticals. It is a clear, odourless, thin, and a slightly sweet tasting liquid. The Propylene Glycol we use is USP (Pharmaceutical) Grade and is of premium quality.
VG stands for Vegetable Glycerine and is a colourless, odourless, thicker liquid that is non-toxic. VG also has a slightly sweet taste. It is used in the food industry as an artificial sweetener as well as in pharmaceuticals.
Here at Vape Lab Group, we use only the highest quality ingredients consisting of VG, PG,
food-grade flavouring and nicotine.
What is an E-liquid?
‘E-liquid’ is the term used for the liquid inside a vape/e-cigarette, which produces both the flavour and vapour. E-liquid consists of two main components - Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG).
Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin are the carriers of the flavour concentrates. VG is essentially used as the thickener, whereas PG does the opposite and is used as the thinner.
What does the VG/PG ratio mean?
You might have noticed that all of our E-Liquids mention VG/PG ratios.
Essentially, this refers to how thin or thick the e-liquid is. A higher PG ratio such as 70PG/30VG is quite a ‘thin’ liquid, which will typically give you a slightly harsher throat hit. A high VG ratio, such as 65VG/35PG is the one we prefer to use. It is often softer on the throat and will produce larger, more dense vapour production (clouds).
